This year's Greater Des Moines Exhibited is the 26th edition of our juried show featuring artists from the Des Moines Metropolitan Area. We are very honored to have this annual exhibit judged by well-known artist and founder of Sticks Object Art and Furniture Sarah Grant.
Eligibility: To enter in the show, submitting artists must live in Polk County or a county that borders Polk County.
Born in Rochester, New York, in 1953, is the talented and charismatic artist and mother Sarah Grant. She was raised in Ames, Iowa, and is the oldest of three siblings. Sarah presently resides in Des Moines, Iowa, and is the mother of three beautiful daughters, Rachel, Rebecca and Hannah. Sarah is an abstract painter and the founder and owner of Sticks, Inc., a nationally recognized creator of artistic furniture, accessories and object art. It is her adoration and devotion to a life filled with education, learning and creativity that has gained her national recognition. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Printmaking, a Masters in Printmaking, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Iowa. Sarah Grant’s paintings and Sticks creations are represented in museum, corporate, private and public collections as well as galleries across the country.

JUDGING: Saturday, October 19 to Friday, October 25, 2019 - The juror reviews the artworks and chooses approximately 70 pieces of artwork for the exhibit.
NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE: Saturday, October 26, 2019 - Artists will be notified of the juror's selections via email.
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED ARTWORKS: Thursday, November 7 - 8, 2019 - Selected artists may drop off their artwork to the Gallery during Gallery hours: 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m
EXHIBITION DATES: Selected artworks may be viewed at the Polk County Heritage Gallery from Tuesday, November 12 to Janurary 13, 2020. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.
PUBLIC + ARTISTS RECEPTION AND AWARDS: TBD.
All artists must be 18 years of age or older.
All work must be original and weigh no more than 75 lbs. nor measure over 5 feet in any direction.
All work must be ready for display and wired for hanging.
If paintings, no wet oils will be accepted.
Fragile/delicate 3-dimensional work, pottery or sculpture that requires more than normal care will be the responsibility of the artist to install and remove.
Unless otherwise arranged, all accepted work must be delivered during the posted delivery time. Late delivery may result in exclusion of the accepted piece from the exhibit.
