Des Moines photographer, Molly Wood, uses natural light and inspiration from Dutch Still Life painting to create vignettes that use botanicals as metaphors for human experiences. She is one of this year's five Iowa Arts Council Fellows and has been included in group exhibitions at the Freeport Art Museum, the Midwest Center for Photography and the Kansas City Society of Contemporary Photographers. She has had solo exhibitions at Iowa State University, St Ambrose University, the Muscatine Art Center and has upcoming solo shows at the Dubuque Museum of Art, the Sioux City Art Center. She is represented in Iowa by Olson-Larsen Galleries and manages photo shoots at Meredith for Better Homes and Gardens products and is also an adjunct professor teaching the history of photography at DMACC.

ENTRY DEADLINE: June 7, 2019
JUDGING: June 8 to June 14, 2019 - The juror reviews the artworks and chooses approximately 70 pieces of artwork for the exhibit.
NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE: June 15, 2019 - Artists will be notified of the juror's selections for the photo exhibition via email.
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED ARTWORKS: June 20 - June 21, 2019 - Selected artists may drop off their artwork to the Gallery during Gallery hours: 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m
EXHIBITION DATES: Selected artworks may be viewed at the Polk County Heritage Gallery from June 24 to Sept 6. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.
PUBLIC + ARTISTS’ RECEPTION: Late August, 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm with awards being announced at 6 pm.
Eligibility: To enter in the show, submitting artists must live in Iowa.
All artists must be 18 years of age or older.
All work must be original and weigh no more than 75 lbs. nor measure over 5 feet in any direction.
All work must be ready for display and wired for hanging.
No wet oils will be accepted.
Fragile/delicate 3-dimensional work, pottery or sculpture that requires more than normal care will be the responsibility of the artist to install and remove.
Unless otherwise arranged, all accepted work must be delivered during the posted delivery time. Late delivery may result in exclusion of the accepted piece from the exhibit.
